After Texas teenager\u00a0Karmelo Anthony\u00a0was found guilty of killing fellow high school athlete\u00a0Austin Metcalf\u00a0at a track meet, the victim\u2019s twin brother directly addressed his sibling\u2019s killer in court.<\/p>\n

Anthony, 19, was sentenced to 35 years in prison during a hearing on Tuesday, June 9. After his sentence was revealed, Metcalf\u2019s twin brother,\u00a0Hunter Metcalf, shared a powerful message with Anthony during a victim\u2019s impact statement.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou took a son, a brother, a friend, and my best friend, from this world. You took someone from me who was supposed to be an uncle, godfather to my kids,\u201d Hunter,18, emotionally said, according to\u00a0CBS Texas. \u201cNow I want everything taken from you.\u201d<\/p>\n

He continued, \u201cEventually your name will be forgotten. But my brother\u2019s memory will live on.\u201d<\/p>\n
Anthony was\u00a0found guilty of first-degree murder\u00a0for Austin\u2019s death at age 17shortly before he received his sentence.<\/p>\n

The deadly incident took place at a high school track meet in April 2025. Police said that Anthony, who was also 17 at the time, attacked Austin after the victim asked him to move from beneath a tent that was designated for his track team at the meet.<\/p>\n
A witness claimed to authorities that Anthony then responded by taking a knife out of his backpack and saying, \u201cTouch me and see what happens.\u201d<\/p>\n
Austin then allegedly touched Anthony and tried to physically move him, which was when Anthony pulled out a knife and stabbed him in the chest.<\/p>\n
Anthony spoke to a responding officer and admitted to stabbing him, though insisted throughout the trial that it was all in self defense.<\/p>\n
Not only did Hunter speak during the trial, but so did both of Austin\u2019s parents.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe were robbed!\u201d Austin\u2019s father,\u00a0Jeff Metcalf, told Anthony before he directed his son\u2019s killer to make eye contact with him. \u201cDon\u2019t look down!\u201d<\/p>\n
Jeff continued, \u201cYou failed your parents, you failed yourself, and you failed society \u2026 You don\u2019t belong in this community. You\u2019re going to prison. I forgave you the day it happened. I don\u2019t forgive what you did. You can\u2019t look me in the eyes but you can stab my f****ing son!\u201d<\/p>\n

Austin\u2019s mother,\u00a0Meghan Metcalf, also addressed Anthony and said he should \u201cfeel lucky\u201d that he was only sentenced to 35 years in prison because she was \u201csentenced to a life without my son.\u201d<\/p>\n
Meghan went on to call Austin a \u201cpeacemaker\u201d and a \u201cprotector\u201d before she recalled the final morning she spent with her son before his death.<\/p>\n
\u201cThere was a part of him you can never take from me, the strength I still get from him every day, because I know what it was like to be loved by him,\u201d Meghan said. \u201cMy son was murdered. He didn\u2019t just die. He was taken from us. Just as he was starting to live.\u201d<\/p>\n
