Dolly Parton\u2019s loved ones reportedly rushed to be by her side after her health took an unexpected sharp decline before\u00a0her heartbreaking death on Tuesday.<\/p>\n
Although the country music icon had\u00a0struggled with health issues\u00a0in the months before her death, her passing was sudden and came as an unexpected shock to even those close to her,\u00a0TMZ reported.<\/p>\n
According to the outlet, some of Parton\u2019s loved ones didn\u2019t make it to Nashville in time before she died Tuesday at the age of 80. They reportedly rushed to town to see the singer after hearing that she had been hospitalized and that her health was declining.<\/p>\n

Per TMZ, Parton was hospitalized at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville last Friday with kidney and autoimmune issues.<\/p>\n
Reps for Parton confirmed to Page Six on Tuesday that the country music icon\u00a0died following \u201ca brief\u201d battle with cancer.<\/p>\n

The singer appeared to be in good spirits\u00a0during her final public appearance,\u00a0which occurred just days before her death on Tuesday.<\/p>\n
At the time, the \u201cJolene\u201d songstress appeared virtually to accept the ACM Poet\u2019s Award at the ACM Honors on Aug. 19. It is unclear, however, when she recorded the video message.<\/p>\n

\u201cEvery dream I ever had, and all the dreams that I\u2019ve been able to see come true in life, well, they all started with a song. Songwriting has been my therapy,\u201d she shared in part.<\/p>\n
\u201cSongwriting has been my release, my joy. Songwriting has been a gift from God that has allowed me to touch people with words and music.\u201d<\/p>\n
In\u00a0her final interview, which was published last Friday, Parton told\u00a0People that\u00a0she was \u201cdealing with some health issues that I just didn\u2019t pay attention to when I was watching over Carl,\u201d referring to\u00a0her husband Carl Dean, who died in March 2025 at the age of 82.<\/p>\n
Parton also noted, \u201cIt\u2019s not like I haven\u2019t been through hard times with my health.\u201d<\/p>\n
As Page Six reported earlier Tuesday, Parton\u2019s nephew Bryan Seaver confirmed the singer\u2019s death on behalf of her family in an\u00a0emotional message\u00a0shared via Instagram.<\/p>\n
\u201cDolly has lived in the light and is in the arms of Jesus. Surely met by Carl, her parents, and countless others who have watched her and longed for her to meet them in the heavens,\u201d he said in part.<\/p>\n
On her legacy, he gushed, \u201cDolly also opened doors for generations of singers, songwriters, musicians and dreamers from every walk of life, and across every continent. By her example, we believed that anything was possible.
