Rehab Addict<\/em>\u00a0star\u00a0Nicole Curtis\u00a0is facing backlash after a video emerged of her using a racial slur during filming of the HGTV series.<\/p>\n RadarOnline<\/em>\u00a0first shared the video on Wednesday (February 11), the same day the show was set to return for the remainder of its ninth season. Following the video\u2019s release, HGTV severed ties with Curtis, canceling her show and removing it from its network and streaming platforms.<\/p>\n In the video, Curtis was having an issue with some wiring during one of her renovation projects. While struggling with the wires, she blurted out the N-word, saying, \u201cWhy? It\u2019s the last one. Oh, fart n*****.\u201d<\/p>\n Curtis immediately realized the gravity of what she\u2019d said, saying, \u201cWhat the f*** is that I just said?\u201d She then called for someone off camera to \u201ckill that\u201d before mumbling, \u201cF*** my life.\u201d<\/p>\n In a statement to\u00a0People<\/em>, HGTV said it was \u201crecently made aware of an offensive racial comment made during the filming of\u00a0Rehab Addict<\/em>.\u00a0Not only is language like this hurtful and disappointing to our viewers, partners, and employees \u2013 it does not align with the values of HGTV.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cAccordingly, we have removed the series from all HGTV platforms. It\u2019s been a meaningful chapter, but my focus isn\u2019t on my career. My focus, at this moment is rightfully on my relationships, and my community \u2014 the people who truly know my character and where my heart is.\u201d<\/p>\n Despite the apology, fans haven\u2019t been so quick to let Curtis off the hook.
