In video of her remarks that circulated online, Watson Coleman said: \u201cIf we wanted to eliminate abuse and fraud, we\u2019d eliminate the president of the United States from the office right now, and the rest of the sycophants in his administration.\u201d<\/p>\n

The comment quickly went viral on social media and conservative outlets, with critics claiming the congresswoman was using dangerous rhetoric under the pretense of discussing oversight and fraud enforcement.<\/p>\n

The controversy coincides with the Trump administration and congressional Republicans focusing on fraud and waste in federal programs, while Democrats argue that \u201cfraud\u201d is merely a pretext for spending cuts. This tension has sparked intense debates and hearings, with Democrats framing Trump\u2019s agenda as an attack on their supported agencies, while Republicans insist voters want stronger enforcement against ineffective systems.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, the president has named Vice President JD Vance as the first \u201cfraud czar\u201d and tasked him with putting together a team and rooting out fraud throughout the country. Thus far, the VP and those assisting in the effort have uncovered hundreds of millions in fraudulent activities, mostly in blue states like California and Minnesota.<\/p>\n

In the latter, another member of a Minnesota family tied to a large federal fraud case is expected to plead guilty, according to court records and reporting, amid new calls to deport Democratic Rep. Ilhan Omar over claims she committed fraud to enter the U.S. years ago.<\/p>\n

Prosecutors allege the family fraudulently claimed to provide meals through a federal child nutrition program while diverting approximately $14 million for personal use. Authorities say Mohamed is the sixth member of his family to face conviction in the case.<\/p>\n

The Mohamed family attended the now-infamous meeting in 2021, where Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison met with members of the Somali community. During the meeting, individuals attempting to commit fraud could be heard asking the attorney general for assistance in securing additional funding. The discussion later shifted to the topic of campaign donations.<\/p>\n

Ellison has denied any wrongdoing related to the recording, stating that he was completely unaware of the fraudsters\u2019 crimes during the meeting.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhich is why I\u2019ve rolled out a five-point plan to prevent fraud before it starts,\u201d al-Aqidi said, adding that people in Omar\u2019s district are \u201cfurious\u201d about the scandal.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis isn\u2019t just about taxpayers, it\u2019s about people who really need food and housing. Preventing fraud isn\u2019t complicated, it just takes the political will to stop this type of abuse. It\u2019s clear that this scheme is being used to buy votes, and that has to stop,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

This as an unofficial X account called for Omar to be extradited to the Republic of Somaliland after Vance said in a recent interview she \u201cdefinitely\u201d committed marriage fraud to enter the U.S. in the early 2000\u2019s.<\/p>\n
