They played the long game and it paid off 👏

Making promises with your friends when you’re younger is kind of a normal thing, but not a lot of us stick to them.
And a lot of people would deffo struggle to keep that promise if it involved money… but it seems these two friends from Wisconsin don’t have that problem.
Back in 1992, Thomas Cook and Joseph Feeney shook hands and decided that if either one of them one the Powerball jackpot, they would split the winnings with the other.
May be an image of money and text that says "LOTTERT UNILAD TAYTHA 60.00 SIXTY POWER R E Date 6/10/2020 (POWERLLAY (20WI LAI M TomG: $22.000000 Man split $22 million lottery prize with best friend after 28-year-old handshake promise"
The chances of winning are astronomical, but luckily, Cook of Elk Mound ended up winning in 2020, and he kept his word.
He won $22 million after buying it a gas station in Menomonie in June and was understandably shocked.
Speaking to Wisconsin Lottery, he said: “It was quite an experience. When I read the first two or three numbers, I kind of froze.”
Speaking of the deal, he added: “That happened many years ago. A handshake’s a handshake, man.”
