As Simone Biles continued to dominate gymnastics at the 2024 Paris Olympics, her husband, Bears safety Jonathan Owens, couldn’t have been more proud.
While Biles was competing, Owens received permission from the Bear’s front office to travel to Paris to watch his wife perform even though it meant missing practice time.
He was seen cheering her on at every event, and even though he is now back in Chicago at practice, his public support has not faded.
During a recent press conference, Owens did not hold back when expressing his pride in his wife.
“My wife’s a warrior,” said Owens
Many don’t know, but Biles competed in the Olympics despite a calf injury that would have sidelined many other athletes.
“The way that she was able to go out there and look graceful with everything. People didn’t have a clue what was going on. I was just so happy and proud for her,” he added.
This year’s Olympics completely solidified the idea that Biles is the greatest Olympic gymnast in history. She has now captured seven gold medals in her career.
When players switch teams, it’s not uncommon for them to criticize their former team or even their teammates.
It’s even more common when that switch comes from a bitter rivalry like the Packers and Chicago Bears.
During practice, a fan asked Owens, “Do you miss Green Bay?” while he answered, “Absolutely not.” That, of course, didn’t sit well with current players of the Packers, especially edge rusher Rashan Gary.
“He got to just be saying that but he don’t understand how the life is over here. JO stop it,” said Gary in an interview with Kay Adams.
