The Olympic experience has been great for Canadian pole vaulter Alysha Newman in 2024 as she’s set to return home with a medal while her social media exposure has improved considerably.
Newman caused a stir online with her twerking celebration after clearing 4.85 meters to snag bronze on Wednesday. And a new angle of her racy gyration has since surfaced online, giving fans an even better view as her movement was somewhat obscured in the original clip.

The Canadian owns an OnlyFans account and, according to German news outlet BILD, around 65,000 new users have liked her profile since her twerk.
Alysha Newman Doesn’t Care How You Feel About Her OnlyFans Involvement
Alysha Newman has attracted criticism because of her OF account, but she claims it does not bother her since she doesn’t post extra-racy content. The Canadian mostly shares footage from her training sessions on the platform and says you have to pay to know for sure.
BILD reports that it costs $7.14 to access her page during the Olympics as opposed to the $12.99 subscription.
“Of course, many people have a certain cliché when they think of OnlyFans. I can’t change many people’s minds,” she said. “But this website has connected me with many fans, more than any other pole vaulter before. What others think about it doesn’t bother me. I am who I am and I do it well.
“I earn money with what I post – you have to log in to find out. It makes me confident and I feel good about it.”
As for her Olympic achievement, the 30-year-old Alysha Newman described it as “surreal” and “awesome.”
“It was a surreal moment. It was awesome,” the three-time Olympian told Canada’s Olympic website. “Everyone was saying if someone was going to do it it would be me and I’m so happy I lived up to that expectation.”
Australia’s Nina Kennedy and Team USA’s Katie Moon finished ahead of her, winning gold and silver, respectively.
