Dollywood opened its new NightFlight Expedition attraction without Dolly Parton physically at the Tennessee theme park. Parton had been scheduled to attend the August 19, 2026 celebration in person, according to TMZ.

She apologized for being unable to make the trip and acknowledged that the remote appearance was a change from the original plan. “I’m supposed to be there in person, like we planned,” she said.

Parton appeared on the large screen framed by oversized fairy wings in pink, purple and blue, making her doctor’s “clipped my wings” remark literal.
