The NFL was forced to delete a tweet after making a gaffe involving Tom Brady on Sunday afternoon.
The former New England Patriots and Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback is approaching his debut as a broadcaster for FOX, but he was never scheduled to call the fixture between the Dallas Cowboys and Los Angeles Rams as the league’s X/Twitter account had fans believe prior to the game.
Said account posted a video of the seven-time Super Bowl winner walking along the SoFi Stadium sideline, seemingly getting ready for his first time in the broadcast booth.
But fans doubted they would hear Brady’s voice, and rightly so, because he was not announced ahead of the game. You have to imagine that Brady’s debut would be huge news.
BREAKING: Tom Brady has arrived in SoFi stadium as he is making his BROADCASTING DEBUT TODAY, calling #Rams, #Cowboys.
THIS SHOULD BE A LOT OF FUN to hear TB12 in the booth calling an NFL game.

Additionally, NFL Network was the national broadcaster for that particular game, and their delivery was a simulcast of the local Rams broadcast, which was handled by Andrew Siciliano, Mina Kimes, and Andrew Whitworth.
The tweet was quickly deleted, but it had already been shared on several accounts by then. While some accounts deleted the video, it remained on multiple pages, such as Mundo NFL, at least for a while.

While it’s true that Tom Brady was at the game to work, it was because FOX opted to give him a practice run that was not aired live.
We’ll get to hear him soon enough.
