Ionescu had just met Kobe and his daughter, Gigi, in 2019 when the two sat courtside for a game between her Oregon Ducks and USC.
She would soon begin working out with them in the summer and building a friendship.
Unfortunately, things would end terribly months later as Kobe and Gigi Bryant were tragically killed in a helicopter crash in January 2020.
Sabrina Ionescu was one of many people who spoke at Kobe Bryant’s celebration of life.
