Keanu Reeves is considered one of the most talented actors in Hollywood. Because he is from Canada, fans could assume that there is something stereotypically Canadian about him, and they would be correct.

Many Canadians grow up watching hockey. It’s one of the country’s pastimes and most players who want to become professionals want to play in one of the three major junior leagues: the WHL, OHL, or the QMJHL.

Reeves started the game late. He was born in Lebanon and spent time in Australia and New York before moving to Toronto. When he got to Canada as a kid, he started playing Goalie, and he seems to have done pretty well for himself.

Reeves tried out for the Windsor Spitfires of the WHL in his teens; unfortunately, his career was cut short due to an injury. While his injury may have been unfortunate at the time, luckily, he benefited, and so did Hollywood as he decided to focus on his acting career.

The Spitfires signed Reeves to a ceremonial one-day contract, going outside the league’s age limit of 20. This allowed the actor to check off one of his childhood dreams. The actor didn’t only do it for his dreams; he also did it to benefit others.

Reeves got a cool new jersey from the team, and after signing the contract, he signed the jersey and a few other items and allowed them to be auctioned off for charity. All the money made from the auctioned-off items will go to the Canadian Mental Health Association.

With Reeves now achieving a childhood dream, maybe some other A-list celebrities have dreams of their own and are inspired to achieve them. Who knows, maybe they’ll benefit other charities around the world.
