VIDEO: High School Football Ref Gets Tackled By Defender After Intercepting The Ball During Crazy Play

High School Football referee getting tackled by a player.

The NFL is known for being one of the most professional football leagues in the world. Some would advocate that it is the most professional; therefore, you would never see an instance where a player laying their hands on a referee goes unpunished.’

High School football is an entirely different animal. While all players aim to be professionals, not all have the skill set to do so, which is why you’ll see some out-of-this-world highlights and some other uninspiring talents, to say the least.

Other times, you’ll see things that you’d rarely see in an NFL match-up, and that rains true for this viral video. During a play in a high school football league, a quarterback throws a pass that is intercepted by the ref, who is then tackled by a defender

High School Football Ref Gained A Lot Of Fans After Getting Tackled

Fans were immediately in love with the defender’s play. One praised him, stating, “Props to the defender for having the control to hold him up mid-tackle, though,” while another added that he “had to finish the play.”

Others claimed that the ref possibly had a shot at the big league. Some joked that the Detroit Lions should sign the guy, while others gave out complete scouting reports, adding, “Like the frame and ball skills. Athleticism and physicality are questionable. See him as a developmental day three guy.”

Some fans were even claiming that the ref just wanted to show off a little bit, commenting things like, “Ref wanted to show these young bucks he still got it,” and “At least he showed some athleticism.”

NFL can assume that if this ever did happen in an actual game, the player who even laid a finger on the ref would sued into oblivion, which is why some call it the no-fun league. This is one of the reasons it’s always fun to see other not-so-professional league highlights.
