The Florida Gators had a terrible season opener in front of their fans on Saturday.
The unranked team had the unfortunate task of welcoming the Miami Hurricanes to Ben Hill Griffin Stadium, and the road team stomped all over their couch during this contest.
The Gators suffered an ugly 41–17 loss at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium.
The Hurricanes, who started the season ranked No. 19 in the country, were led by senior quarterback Cam Ward, who finished with 385 yards passing and three touchdowns.
As the Gators were being embarrassed on the field, a photo resurfaced online of a young Florida Gators female fan in the stands wearing a strapless shirt with the word “Chomp” on it.

The Florida Gators’ 33-home-opener win streak ended in the worst way possible on Saturday.

The Miami Hurricanes opened their season on Saturday in one of the most hostile environments in college football at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium, and they treated it like they were playing at a school that had never played football before.
The Hurricanes dominated everywhere as they totaled 524 yards while generating 25 first downs and 13 plays over 20+ yards.
The Hurricanes held the Florida Gators to 261 yards of offense, including just 122 yards of passing, per the box score stats.
The Gators did not record a pass of 20 or more yards. Miami recorded three sacks while also getting eight tackles for loss. The Gators could only reach the red zone one time for the game.
