The Philadelphia Eagles have left the United States for Brazil. The team is scheduled to play the Green Bay Packers on Friday night in what will mark the NFL’s first game in the South American country.
The league is keen on growing its brand internationally and, as such, will be hosting games in new territories, with Brazil the latest.
While the Kansas City Chiefs and Baltimore Ravens will open curtains on the new NFL season this Thursday, the Eagles and Packers will be involved in a rare Friday night game on unfamiliar grounds.
An in-flight photo showing the team heading to said country is doing the rounds online, along with claims that players have been instructed not to sleep on the nine-hour trip.
The photo also shows a certain player’s phone, and he appears to be checking on a Caleb Williams update. The Chicago Bears quarterback was named a team captain this week, so it could be what the post was about, but whoever it is was keen on staying abreast.

We’re willing to bet that phone belongs to Jalen Hurts.
The Philadelphia Eagles Shouldn’t Have To Worry About The Chicago Bears This Season
The former USC quarterback will attract a lot of attention in his rookie season, with much expected from him given that the Bears selected him as the No. 1 overall pick and immediately handed him the reins.
The Eagles aren’t scheduled to face the Bears this season, but it’s hardly a reason to skip any reporting on Williams.
Following their trip to Brazil, Philly will play the Atlanta Falcons and then go on to play the New Orleans Saints before squaring off with the team that knocked them out of the playoffs last season: the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
They are probably looking forward to that one the most.
