Lindsey Vonn has suffered her second crash in just nine days.
Lindsey Vonn has been airlifted to hospital for the second time in nine days following an awful downhill crash at the Winter Olympics in Milan Cortina on Sunday.
Vonn sustained a torn ACL when she took a harsh tumble on the final World Cup downhill in Switzerland before the Olympic Games on January 30.
She fought through the injury in a bid for gold, taking to the slope on a rebuilt right knee and a badly injured left knee.
The video below shows her losing control just seconds after leaving the starting gate, clipping her right shoulder on another gate. She rolled down the slope before coming to an awkward stop on her back.
The 41-year-old screamed in agony as medical personnel rushed to her aid.
They eventually strapped her to a gurney, and she was then flown away by helicopter.
Lindsey Vonn’s Condition Unknown

Vonn’s condition was unknown at the time of writing. But the U.S. Ski Team said she would be fine and was being evaluated.
“She’ll be OK, but it’s going to be a bit of a process,” chief of sport for U.S. Ski and Snowboard, Anouk Patty, said, per the AP.“This sport’s brutal and people need to remember when they’re watching (that) these athletes are throwing themselves down a mountain and going really, really fast.”
Vonn entered the Olympics as the leader in the World Cup downhill standings. She was a favorite for the gold medal before her crash in Switzerland.
Aside from the torn ACL, she also sustained a bone bruise and meniscus damage on January 30.
Her latest injuries, if any, are unknown.
