Isaiah Likely is already looking ahead to a potential playoff rematch with the Kansas City Chiefs, and he may have put his foot in his mouth.
The finish to Thursday night’s NFL opener reminded everybody that the game is truly “a game of inches,” as demonstrated by the final play of the Kansas City Chiefs’ 27-20 win over the Baltimore Ravens.
Needing a touchdown and an extra point to tie the game, or even going for two to win, Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson led his team down the field on an 11-play, 77-yard drive, but a final pass that was initially called a TD resulted in it being overturned after it was ruled that Isaiah Likely’s toe landed out of bounds after he caught the ball in the back of the end zone.
After the game, Likely was already looking ahead to a potential playoff rematch with the Kansas City Chiefs as he threw shade at the defending champs.
“I’d say this is probably the worst game we’re going to play all year, so if this is the best that they’ve got, good luck in the postseason,” he said.
