Well, it didn’t take long for new Houston Texans wide receiver Stefon Diggs to express his unhappiness on the sidelines. Eight minutes and 16 seconds of game time, to be exact.

The Texans acquired Stefon Diggs in a blockbuster trade with the Buffalo Bills in April, following a roller-coaster four-year tenure with the AFC East team. Despite his all-world production, Diggs was no stranger to displaying his emotions on the sidelines with Josh Allen and company.

A change of scenery is supposed to be a nice mental reset for Diggs, who has been vocal about his unhappiness during his tenure in Buffalo. And yet, it was only a matter of minutes until Diggs finally complained to his new teammates during his Texans debut against the Indianapolis Colts:

If Stefon Diggs’ complaint was simply about not getting the ball,, CJ Stroud heard his message loud and clear. The sophomore signal-caller found Diggs for a nine-yard score in the second quarter (Houston’s first touchdown of the season) to put Houston back on top.

But otherwise, it was a mostly quiet first half for Diggs. Aside from the nine-yard TD, he had two receptions for 12 yards. Houston took a 12-7 lead into the half, with Nico Collins leading the team in receiving (three catches for 79 yards).

Stefon Diggs Got The Fresh Start He Wanted

Regardless of the sideline conversation with teammates, Diggs will have to learn to be a team player with the Texans. This is a young team with Super Bowl aspirations, and Diggs has to accept that he won’t be putting up the same numbers that he did in Buffalo. Not in an offense with Collins, Tank Dell, Dalton Schultz and Joe Mixon.

Diggs is also in his contract year, so he’s going to have to stay focused on putting the team first if he wants to increase his market value for 2025.
