Horrible and gut-wrenching news.
On Saturday evening, Ahmad Hicks of FOX 9 reported that Rondale Moore died. Further details, including the cause of death, have not been disclosed.
Jeff Brohm, who coached Moore at Purdue, issued the following statement on Moore’s passing, per WLKY:
“Rondale Moore was a complete joy to coach. The ultimate competitor that would never back down to any challenge. Rondale has a work ethic that was unmatched by anyone. A great teammate that would come through in any situation. we all loved Rondale and we loved his smile and competitive edge that always wanted to please everyone he came in contact with. We offer all of our thoughts and prayers to Rondale and his family and we love him very much!!!”
It’s absolutely horrific and shocking news. Though we’re still waiting to learn more, there was obviously no prior indication that Moore had any serious health issues.
Moore spent his first three seasons with the Arizona Cardinals before getting traded to the Atlanta Falcons in 2024. Unfortunately, he missed the entire season with a knee injury. After signing with the Vikings last year, he signed another devastating season-ending knee injury in a preseason game.
Our thoughts and prayers are with Moore’s family, friends and the Minnesota Vikings’ organization.
Rondale Moore Was A Dynamic Playmaker In Arizona

The Cardinals drafted the speedy Moore in the second round (49th overall) in 2021. Though he saw limited playing time on offense, Moore recorded 135 receptions for 1,201 yards and three touchdowns as a Cardinal.
He was also explosive on special teams. Moore had 182 kick return yards and 291 punt return yards, averaging 22.4 yards per return on the latter. He helped Arizona snap a six-year playoff drought in the 2021 season.
