On Saturday, the Oregon Ducks hosted the Ohio State Buckeyes in one of the best college football games of the year. At tone point, Oregon wide receiver Traeshon Holden was ejected for spitting on a Buckeye defensive back.

Of course, in such a big game, that’s inexcusable, as it hurts not only you but also your teammates who are trying to beat one of the best teams in the country.

Oregon would end up winning 32-31, so it didn’t go on to hurt the team, but Holden would still issue an official apology.

To my Oregon family, I am truly sorry for letting you down. You have shown me the importance of teamwork, discipline, and respect, and my actions in that moment did not reflect these core principles. I recognize that this has negatively affected our team’s reputation, and I deeply regret putting us in that situation,” wrote one part of the lengthy apology.

Unfortunately for Holden, though, a big problem arose with his statement after a social media user put it through an AI detector, and 89.82% of it was flagged.

You hope that the AI-detecting software is wrong, but nonetheless, this is still a bad look for the young wide receiver.

Traeshon Holden Could Face More Punishment

Holden’s inability to control his emotions could have cost the Oregon Ducks one of the year’s biggest games.

There’s certainly a scenario where head coach Dan Lanning sees this as a learning opportunity for Holden and the rest of the team.

It wouldn’t be the craziest thing, though, if the football program handed Holden some other kind of punishment. Of course, though, missing more games for Holden only hurts the Duck’s chances at winning
