News of Jay Cutler’s arrest has rocked the football world today, with the former Chicago Bears quarterback being jailed in Tennessee after being stopped by police on Thursday.
Cutler, who was known as “Smokin’ Jay Cutler” as a player, thanks to a meme showing him smoking a cigarette on the sidelines, was pulled over after deciding to drive while under the influence while in Franklin, Tennessee. He was also found with a handgun.
Reports noted that the former Bears QB, who also played for the Denver Broncos and Miami Dolphins, was charged with a quadruple of offenses, including DUI, failure to exercise due care, violation of implied consent law, and possession of a handgun while under the influence.
A representative for the Franklin Police Department spoke to TMZ Sports and informed the outlet that Cutler was booked into the Williamson County Jail before posting a $5,000 bond.
The former QB hadn’t made a public statement at the time of writing.
