Chicago Bears fans are teeing off on wide receiver Keenan Allen because of his strange reaction to Jayden Daniels’ walk-off Hail Mary touchdown pass to Noah Brown.
Sunday marked the first showdown between Caleb Williams and Jayden Daniels, the first two picks of the 2024 NFL Draft. Just when it looked like the Bears were about to pull up the upset, Daniels’ last-second heave to the end zone was caught by Brown to walk it off in jaw-dropping fashion.
A video of Williams’ heartbreaking and stunning reaction to the Hail Mary went viral. Obviously, one can understand why he was devastated to lose after orchestrating a go-ahead touchdown drive with only 23 seconds remaining:

But football fans on X/Twitter noticed that Allen had a totally bizarre reaction to Jayden Daniels’ game-winning play. For whatever reason, the Pro Bowl wideout was laughing on the sidelines while the Commanders celebrated:

Very strange 🤔 https://t.co/FIlRtw2cTw pic.twitter.com/7K3bVhYnFW

Keenan Allen just smiling after his team loses on a Hail Mary is hilarious. Got Stevenson taunting and not paying attention while the play is going on. Can’t make it up. But hey I’m just a Packers fan so what do I know 🤷🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️ pic.twitter.com/ox5w9rGdge

Need an investigation on why Keenan Allen is smiling here after the Hail Mary… what’s he know? Is the NFL really scripted? pic.twitter.com/F5RkuFmTsY

Allen has gotten off to a slow start with the Bears, notching just 17 catches for 171 yards and two touchdowns in five games. The 32.2 yards he’s averaging per game mark the lowest of Allen’s career, well off his career average of 74.2.
As one of the users noted, maybe Allen is just all too used to heartbreaking losses. Don’t forget the Los Angeles Chargers’ legend was on a team that blew a 27-0 lead to the Jacksonville Jaguars in a 2023 Wild Card Round, which is a lot worse than what Jayden Daniels did last night.
Jayden Daniels Is In MVP Consideration
Daniels is already running away with Offensive Rookie of the Year honors. The real question is if he’ll manage to outlast the likes of Josh Allen, Patrick Mahomes and Lamar Jackson in the MVP race.
Daniels is having one of the best rookie seasons ever, with 1,736 yards, seven touchdowns and only two interceptions to go along with, 424 rushing yards and four rushing touchdowns.
