The Detroit Lions are set to play their three remaining regular-season games and go into the playoffs without a pair of key defensive players

The Lions lost 48-42 to the Buffalo Bills at home on Sunday, but the drop to 12-2 is hardly all they have to worry about.

The team announced on Monday morning that cornerback Khalil Dorsey and defensive lineman Alim McNeil are both done for the season, having sustained a fractured leg and a torn ACL, respectively.

“Know more tomorrow. I don’t feel good about either one of those guys,” head coach Dan Campbell told reporters after the loss on Sunday. “Normally if I’m like saying ‘I don’t feel good,’ that means not good for the rest of the year, so don’t feel good about it.”

The Detroit Lions’ Push For The Super Bowl Could Be Derailed By Their Latest Defensive Injuries

Dorsey fractured the leg in a collision with a teammate near the goal line on Sunday night. McNeil tore his ACL in the same game, with both of them getting ruled out immediately.

The Lions have done well to maintain their momentum despite multiple key injuries this season. Defensive end Aidan Hutchinson suffered a potential season-ending injury earlier in the campaign, though he hopes to be back in time for the Super Bowl if the team gets that far.

While they managed to keep winning in his absence, the latest setbacks could derail Detroit’s push for silverware.
