The Cincinnati Bengals season ended with no trip to the playoffs, and now, Jermaine Burton has gotten the offseason off to a terrible start
The Cincinnati Bengals rookie wide receiver is being accused of assaulting a woman he was dating, according to the Cincinnati Enquirer.
Fortunately for him, the unnamed woman refused to press charges against him.

The incident reportedly took place on Dec. 30, two days after the Bengals took on the Denver Broncos at Paycor Stadium. It also occurred between then and the team’s travel to Pittsburgh to play the Steelers in their final game of the regular season.
Jermaine Burton didn’t travel with the team.
The reports state that the 19-year-old woman called the police around 8:45 a.m. and informed them that the wideout chased her inside her apartment, damaged her phone, assaulted her, and even held a knife to his neck and threatened to take his own life.
Jermaine Burton on the Bengals just broke into my house. He broke my phone,” the woman told a dispatcher.” He’s been like pretty abusive. He does a lot of things that I don’t tolerate.”
Initially, she wanted to press charges, but quickly changed her mind.
Jermaine Burton is also reportedly being evicted, according to a court filing from Dec. 23.
Burton ended his rookie campaign with four catches for 107 yards in 14 games.
Cincinnati Bengals Issue Statement on Jermaine Burton After Accusations
Bengals wide receiver Jermaine Burton is accused of assaulting a woman he was dating.
The 19-year-old did not press charges.
Burton did not travel to Pittsburgh with the Bengals for their final game as what was labeled a coach’s decision.
It appears they may have been aware.
According to the Cincinnati Enquirer, the Bengals issued this statement on the topic: “We are aware of information related to Jermaine Burton. We will continue to evaluate as we gather additional details and will have no further comment at this time.”
