I just found this thing on my bed. It’s kind of freaking me out.

Those strange, reddish-brown capsules on the bed are almost certainly softgel pills—dietary supplements or medications that slipped from a bottle, pocket, or bedside table. Their smooth, shiny, jelly-like surface and uniform shape match common softgels like fish oil, vitamin E, or krill oil, rather than anything biological or dangerous. Seeds usually have a more fibrous, opaque, or irregular texture, while insect eggs tend to be pale, clustered, and far less glossy.

If you share your home with others, someone may have dropped them without noticing, or a pet could have batted them onto the bed. To be safe, compare them with any supplements or medications in the house and dispose of unknown capsules properly. The fear they sparked is real, but the explanation is almost always ordinary—human, messy, and harmless once you finally know what you’re looking at.
