Presient Donald Trump Has Surprising Reaction To The Philadelphia Eagles Declining An Invitation To Visit The White House

A strange new twist has emerged following news that the Philadelphia Eagles rejected an invitation to visit the White House.

The Eagles stopped the Kansas City Chiefs from achieving a Super Bowl three-peat earlier this month, beating them 40-22 in the big game. It’s been suggested that they will not visit the President’s official residence as they still hold a grudge from 2018, but TMZ is now reporting that they have not actually been invited.

“The Philadelphia Eagles have not formally rejected a visit to the White House … that’s because an invitation hasn’t been extended yet, TMZ Sports has learned,” the outlet notes.

They cite White House sources whom they claim told them Trump hasn’t extended an invitation as yet, so nothing is official.

Should they get an invite, it’s likely that they will turn it down, as a locker room source has reportedly told The Sun there was a “massive no” around the room after the front office sat down to discuss the potential visit with the players.

The Philadelphia Eagles Left It To A Vote

Most of the Eagles players rejected the opportunity to go after they won the Super Bowl in 2018. Donald Trump had made an invitation then, but he pulled it back.

Lane Johnson, one of four players on that team who’s currently on the Philly roster, said he’d be open to going this time around, but it would come down to a team vote.

Team owner Jeffrey Lurie did not give an answer on the matter when quizzed by a reporter before the Super Bowl on February 9.

It’s worth noting that the Eagles haven’t issued a statement rejecting the visit. In any case, they haven’t received anything to reject.
