FEMA Boss Fired After Remarks To Congress

Cameron Hamilton walked out of DHS a terminated man, but not a quiet one. The former Navy SEAL and acting FEMA chief had just told Congress that dismantling FEMA was not in the best interests of the American people. Within a day, Trump’s deputies showed him the door and installed a loyal replacement, signaling how unforgiving this fight over disaster relief has become.

At the same time, Trump allies highlighted alleged FEMA abuses, from luxury hotels for migrants to what they call Biden-era neglect of real disaster victims. Trump now openly flirts with scrapping FEMA or pushing responsibility onto the states, promising faster, cheaper responses while blasting the agency as broken and disloyal. Between Hamilton’s warning and Trump’s vow to “take over,” Americans caught in the next hurricane or wildfire may discover, in real time, whose gamble was right.
