Simone Biles has heard things stated about her hair during the Olympics once before. Unlike in previous times, she is clapping back at her critics.
Biles had a message for critics ahead of her first medal competition at the Paris Olympics.
On TikTok, she posted a video showing off her hair with a message overlayed that said, “Don’t come for me about my hair,” the seven-time Olympic medalist said in an Instagram story on Tuesday. “IT WAS DONE but bus has NO AC and it’s like 9,000 degrees. Oh & a 45 minutes ride.”
In a separate selfie, Biles added, “Gonna hold your hand when I say this, Next time you wanna comment on a black girls hair. JUST DON’T.”
In the meantime, Simone Biles and her hair led the US to a team gold in the women’s gymnastics final on Tuesday, clinching the medal with her floor routine.
For Biles, the Gold medal marks her eighth Olympic medal overall, which made her the most decorated Olympic gymnast in US history, as she surpassed “Magnificent Seven” star Shannon Miller for most career Olympic medals.
Simone Biles Becomes K18’s New Brand Ambassador Before Paris Olympics
Olympic gymnast Simone Biles has heard just about everything when it comes to her hair.
Just before the start of the Olympics, she was named the newest face of the K18 Brand, which promotes healthy hair.
Biles revealed that she uses the brand’s Leave-In Molecular Hair Mask and its hair oil version, which she calls “game-changers.”
She stated that because of those products, her hair “stays healthy amid all the stress I put it through, including with extensions.”
Other celebrities like Hailey Bieber, Selena Gomez, and Rihanna have also been known to use it.
