New Study Reveals The Most Popular NFL Team In Every Country, And Some Of The Results Are Mind-Blowing

Arizona Cardinals fan cheering.

A new study reveals the most popular NFL team from every country heading into the 2024 NFL season, and some of the results are awfully surprising.

FlashPicks.com looked at Google searches for every NFL team around the world to come up with an idea of who the most popular team is in each country. Andrea K. Moreno of KSAT detailed how FlashPicks conducted the study:

Among the more interesting results: The Buffalo Bills appear to be the most popular team in Canada, and the Dallas Cowboys are still “America’s Team” over the Kansas City Chiefs.

The defending Super Bowl champions, however, are the most popular NFL team in countries like Greenland, South America, Kenya, Uganda, Zimbabwe and New Zealand.

Some on social media were surprised to see the Denver Broncos showing up as the most popular NFL team in Australia. That may be because of tight end Thomas Yassmin, an undrafted free agent out of Utah who signed with Denver in April. Yassmin was born in Australia.

Some other crazy results have the Cleveland Browns taking over in Mongolia, and the Arizona Carindals emerging as the pride of Vietnam.

Love or hate him, Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones has done a magnificent job in building up the brand of his football team. The Cowboys are one of the most recognizable logos in pro sports, on par with Manchester United, Real Madrid, the New York Yankees, the Los Angeles Lakers, the Boston Celtics, and the Chicago Blackhawks.

Taylor Swift Is Growing Kansas City Chiefs’ Popularity As An NFL Team

The Chiefs’ global popularity can be explained for two simple reasons. The obvious one is the Taylor Swift effect, as the Grammy Award-winning singer is in a relationship with Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce.

Not only has Swift’s presence at Chiefs games led to giant increases in viewership, but general sports fans just love a winner. The Chiefs have cemented themselves as the class of the NFL, with three Super Bowl championship victories in the last five seasons.
