A surprising new front-runner has emerged to land Dallas Cowboys superstar wide receiver CeeDee Lamb in a blockbuster trade.
The 25-year-old CeeDee Lamb is entering the fifth and final year of his rookie contract and is holding out in hopes of getting a new deal. Pro Bowl quarterback Dak Prescott is also entering his contract year, with no signs of a new deal in sight.
Dallas would obviously rather keep Lamb, but Jones may have no choice but to trade him if they can’t agree on a new deal. After all, Dallas is better off getting a king’s ransom for Lamb as opposed to losing him for nothing in free agency.
At BetOnline, the Kansas City Chiefs have emerged as the betting favorites to acquire CeeDee Lamb if he doesn’t return to the Cowboys in 2024. The Detroit Lions and Pittsburgh Steelers share the second-best odds at +600, followed by the Green Bay Packers and New England Patriots at +700.
Jones fueled the trade rumors last week when he told reporters that there’s no “urgency” on his end to finalize an extension with Lamb. The three-time Pro Bowler did his part in fueling such rumors with this simple response:

The Oklahoma product is coming off a career year in which he caught a league-leading 135 passes for 1,749 yards and 12 touchdowns. For his career, Lamb has 395 receptions for 5,145 yards and 32 touchdowns.
CeeDee Lamb Would Make Chiefs Borderline Unstoppable
Kansas City won the Super Bowl last year with a lackluster receiving corps. In the offseason, GM Brett Veach added Marquise ‘Hollywood’ Brown and Texas speedster Xavier Worthy to complement Travis Kelce and Rashee Rice.
So now imagine if the Chiefs had a top-five receiver in CeeDee Lamb in their offense. Patrick Mahomes has fared just fine without Tyreek Hill with back-to-back Super Bowl wins, but a player like Lamb would take this Kansas City offense to another level that can only be described as borderline unstoppable.
