Jim Harbaugh wants to do the unthinkable and give Colin Kaepernick a job. However, it is not what you think.

Colin Kaepernick spent six seasons in the NFL, all of them as a member of the San Francisco 49ers, where Jim Harbaugh last coached before he headed off to Michigan.

The 36-year-old recently told Sky Sports that he still wants to play in the NFL, and the new Los Angeles Chargers coach contends that he wants his former quarterback back in the NFL, but on his coaching staff.

Jim Harbaugh and Colin Kaepernick clearly have a strong friendship, as displayed when the former Michigan coach allowed him to hold a 15-minute workout during halftime of a spring game in the past.

Just last year, Kaepernick sent a letter to the New York Jets asking them to let him work out for the team after Aaron Rodgers went down with an injury. The Jets never responded.

Colin Kaepernick Says He Is ‘Still Training’ For NFL Return

Jim Harbaugh may want Colin Kaepernick on his coaching staff, but it appears the 36-year-old would rather be playing quarterback for a team.

Kaepernick won’t give up on a chance to return to the NFL, as he is reportedly training and pushing for a comeback in the league.

He last played in the league in 2016 for the San Francisco 49ers, and at that time, he was a very controversial figure due to kneeling during the national anthem.

Those actions allegedly led to him being blackballed.

“We just gotta get one of these team owners to open up,” Kaepernick said.

His last formal workout was in 2022, when he threw passes around for the Las Vegas Raiders, but he left the team unsigned.

Despite road block after road block, Kaepernick still believes he can lead a team to a championship.
