Say what you want about Colorado Buffaloes head coach Deion Sanders, but you won’t find many HCs who take better care of their players than Prime Time himself.
Deion Sanders is beginning his second season as Buffs head coach following a three-year tenure at Jackson State. Colorado will kick off their 2024 season at home against the North Dakota State Bison on Thursday (8:00 p.m. EST).
Ahead of the season opener, Sanders wanted to ensure his players were taken care of financially. Coach Prime partnered with Elevations Credit Union to help open up accounts for the players, who will each get $2,121 to start.

Sanders has a reputation for being a player’s coach, always wanting to ensure the well-being of each player. He has lived up to that once again by committing a remarkably generous act to ensure their financial security.
NEVER make a decision while you’re emotional because your emotions ain’t qualified to make decisions! Anger & Hatred are 2 emotions that will take u farther than u want to go & keep u longer than u want to stay. Learn to Pray & walk away. Your Peace has true value. #CoachPrime

Deion Sanders made headlines over the weekend when the university announced that he wouldn’t take any questions from Sean Keeler of The Denver Post for the 2024 season, citing “sustained, personal attacks.”
A staff member cited comments from Keeler that included “Planet Prime”, “false prophet” and “Deposition Deion” which led to the ban. However, Keeler can still attend games, practices and other Buffs football-related events.
Sanders has faced immense criticism for banning a prominent Denver reporter from questions, but this kind gesture towards his players is a sharp reminder that he’s an incredibly caring individual deep down.
Deion Sanders & Buffs Look To Build Off Up-And-Down 2023
The Buffaloes were the top story early in the 2023 season, when they jumped out to a perfect 3-0 start that included a Week 1 win over the TCU Horned Frogs.
But things quickly went downhill from there, with Colorado losing eight of their final nine games to finish 4-8. That was still a nice step forward for a team that won just a single game the year before, but expectations are higher for the Buffs this year following roster reinforcements.
