Matt Barnes, who played 14 seasons in the NBA, had a prosperous professional career. In his final season in the league in 2017, he won an NBA championship while playing for the Golden State Warriors. However, his son, Zay Barnes, is currently going through a tough time.
Barnes, who was arrested in 2010 on suspicion of domestic violence against Govan, recently posted a photo of his son showing his middle finger in the hospital on his Instagram account. The former NBA player explained that his son had a tough week because he was hit by a car while jogging on Wednesday.
Although many thought the accident was the reason his son was hospitalized, the situation was more serious. Barnes later revealed that his son Zay experienced a severe stomach ache on Friday but still tried to play through the Mamba Invitational. Zay couldn’t sleep that night and mentioned the pain to his mom the following day. When the pain worsened and Zay was unable to move, Barnes took him to the hospital, where he was diagnosed with appendicitis.
After the diagnosis, the doctor mentioned that Zay’s appendix was the largest they had ever seen that hadn’t ruptured. Zay underwent emergency appendix surgery and was later discharged.
