Devin White will not be able to accompany the Eagles during their season opener in Brazil.

The Philadelphia Eagles will be without linebacker Devin White for their season opener in Brazil, as he has been listed as out for the game with an ankle injury.

White signed a one-year deal worth up to $7.5 million back in March after spending his first five seasons in Tampa Bay.

Making things worse for Devin White is that Jeff McLane of the Philadelphia Inquirer reported that Nakobe Dean beat White out in training camp, making his role on the team unclear.

The Buccaneers drafted White out of LSU with the No. 5 overall pick in the 2019 draft. He was a Pro Bowler in 2021 and the year before he was a key player on a Super Bowl champion.

However, Devin White did not have the best year in 2023, as he played on the fifth-year option of his rookie contract.

His bad play was hampered by a foot injury he suffered in Week 3, and he never really recovered to salvage his season.

Linebacker Devin White Is On A One-Year Prove-It Deal With The Eagles

The new-look linebacking corps for the Philadelphia Eagles will be without Devin White for the season opener, and that is a rough start for him since he needs a huge year to secure a long-term contract.

White is on a prove-it deal after signing a one-year, $7.5 million deal with the Philadelphia Eagles this offseason.

The 26-year-old former first-round pick knows that last season was not his best, so he has hopes to show the rest of the league that he can still play at a Pro Bowl level.

He started 13 games last season and finished with 83 tackles and 2.5 sacks.
