The Eagles-Packers Week 1 matchup certainly had many great moments for the first-ever NFL game in Brazil. However, very early on, it became very obvious that the field was not used to having football played on it.

Throughout the entire game, players slipped on nearly every down. This caused many receivers to make bad cuts or defenders to miss very easy tackles. In a close-up video after the game, everyone got a clear look at just how bad the field conditions were.

The end zone was riddled with lots of holes that a player could easily get their foot stuck in. Of course, many fans could not believe that the NFL allowed the Eagles and packers players to compete and risk serious injury.

“A multi-billion dollar company deemed this field was perfectly fine to host a game. Absolutely pathetic,” one comment said.

This is par for the course when the NFL goes to a “new” soccer/football field… Stop it. Yes “Grow the Game” but do a better job at picking a field that won’t injure players, AND allows for the skill and athleticism of these Professionals to play their best! Stop with the Money Grab Location exhibitions… Do it RIGHT or don’t do it at all!” another said.

“That’s brutal. A field should not look that torn up in a game that had no rain. Props to the eagles for being able to get it done on those conditions. Just sucks the field has to be even in question,” a third added.

Of course, the playing surface for NFL games has become a huge topic since many injuries can be linked to certain fields.

Jordan Love Was Injured During The Eagles-Packers Game

During the last few seconds of the game, Packers quarterback Jordan Love suffered a painful injury trying to mount a comeback.

He was helped off the field, but it was later reported that he was walking in the locker room under his own power with almost no limp.
