Detroit Lions Release Brutal Update On Aidan Hutchinson Following His Gruesome Leg Injury & Emergency Surgery On Sunday

The Detroit Lions have provided an update on Aidan Hutchinson’s condition following his gruesome leg injury against the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday.

The Lions ran out to a convincing 47-9 victory over Dallas on the road, but it came at a considerable cost as they lost the star defensive end, likely for the rest of the season. Hutchinson sustained the injury after a nasty collision with a teammate while sacking Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott.

The 24-year-old was expected to be named the NFL Defensive Player of the Year, given that he was the league leader in sacks, with 7.5 at the time.

There Is No Timeline For Aidan Hutchinson’s Return

The Lions posted an update on the player via X on Monday, revealing he had successful surgery on a fractured tibia in Texas on Sunday night. He will return to Detroit sometime this week, though there’s no timeline for a return.

“Aidan Hutchinson underwent successful surgery to repair a fractured tibia and fibula at Baylor White Medical Center in Irving, Texas last night,” they wrote. “Hutchinson will return to Detroit this week and is expected to make a full recovery There is no timeline for his return to play at this time.”

Fans have shown support while offering prayers for the star DE.

“From the packer fan base we wish hutch a speedy recovery , one of the best young players I’ve ever seen,” one wrote. “Hate to see it for anyone even for a rival team . Just sad , rooting for ya . ❤️🤘🏼”

For what it’s worth, Hutchinson plans to return this season if the Lions make it to the Super Bowl, something which will be a lot harder to do without him on their roster.
