New Report Reveals The One Reason That Would Cause Deion Sanders To Leave College For An NFL Coaching Job

Deion Sanders looks on.

Much has been said about Deion Sanders possibly leaving the Colorado Buffaloes for the National Football League, but he has turned down that notion at each turn.

Given his success this season as Colorado’s head coach, it’s no surprise that Sanders’ name has been mentioned for other coaching vacancies, mostly in the NFL.

On Tuesday, however, he made it clear that he has no intention of leaving the Buffaloes. “I’m happy where I am, man,” Sanders told reporters.

In reality, there is one surefire way to get Deion Sanders away from the college ranks.

According to Armando Salguero of Outkick, the Colorado Buffaloes head coach would be interested in taking an NFL head coaching job next season if the team were to draft his son, quarterback Shedeur Sanders, so he could continue coaching him.

Former Cowboys WR Michael Irvin, who is close with the family, alluded to this notion, when he said he heard from a “great source” that Sanders would “one-hundred percent” be interested in taking the Dallas Cowboys head coaching job if they found a way to take Shedeur Sanders.

None of this talk would be possible if the current team was being successful, but as we are currently seeing, the Cowboys are headed for a terrible finish to the 2024 season.

As of right now, Deion Sanders is currently in the middle of a five-year, $29.5 million contract at Colorado.

With their current season, Colorado is projected to enter the College Football Playoff field as the Big 12 champions. The Buffaloes are the hottest team in the league and need only two more wins to reach the title game.

Deion Sanders Dismisses Cowboys Rumors

Deion Sanders has heard his name floating around the eventual open head coaching position with the Cowboys for weeks.

The latest round of speculation had the Buffaloes coach leaving Boulder to take over in Dallas.

He is dismissing that idea.

“I’m happy where I am, man,” he said at a press conference on Tuesday. “I’ve got a kickstand down. You know what a kickstand is? … That means I’m resting. I’m good, I’m happy, I’m excited. I’m enthusiastic about where I am. I love it here, truly do.”
