NFL fans are debating a shady move that two fantasy football players in the same league committed in order to ensure they both made the postseason
In many fantasy football leagues, Week 14 of the NFL campaign was the final week of regular season play. Since many NFL stars sit in Week 18 with playoff spots locked up, Week 17 is the fantasy championship in most leagues.
On Reddit, a fantasy player revealed a ridiculous story on how they missed out on the postseason in their league. Two players facing off in their league purposely benched all of their players in Week 14 to assure a 0-0 tie, which clinched postseason spots for both of them.

The player who posted the thread claims that they also missed out on the postseason as a result of this. They asked for opinions on the matter, leading to all sorts of interesting responses from the fantasy football community.
“This wouldn’t force a tie. It should go to bench points. If you don’t have at least a first tie break you’re an amateur league not worth talking about,” one fan quipped.
“100% cheating if it’s a money league id be asking for a refund,” another said.
“It’s collusion 100%. They were definitely scared. That guy must’ve been on a roll,” wrote a fan.
“This is allowed. Sucks to suck to the loser,” another fan said.’

“Straight collusion Allowed or not neither of those dudes is catching an invite back to the league next season,” said a fan.
“If it’s not against the rules…oh well,” claimed another.
“Just bc you can doesn’t mean you should. Some line of Integrity,” remarked a user.
“Both of those 2 players are spineless cowards,” a fan wrote.

There are countless stories about fantasy football players losing a matchup in the strangest and most unfortunate ways. Perhaps you’ve come across tales where a player lost by less than a point because their quarterback took a kneel at the end of the game.
But missing out on the postseason because in your league because two players purposely threw in the towel by assuring a tie? That’s something we never heard about until now..
Fantasy Football Commissioner In This League Should Lay Down New Rules To Prevent It From Happening Again
In order to avoid collusion and forms of cheating, a well-organized commissioner in fantasy leagues will lay out some rules and potential punishments to the users who don’t follow them.
What the commissioner in this league should do is issue a warning to players who may wish to pull this stunt again next year. Something like a fine for every week that a player fails to put in a full lineup would work, or an automatic loss for failing to follow the rules.
