Speaking to Jay Tust of KTVB Sports after the results were revealed, Jeanty had a classy message for the 2024 Heisman Trophy winner:

“Obviously, it wasn’t the result that I was hoping for. But I kind of just had to take a moment, debrief and just appreciate the fact that I was even here. The fact that I was here is going to be so inspiring to many. It’s very hard to reach this status to be a finalist as it is from any school, but from a Group of Five school, it makes it that much more challenging. I’m proud of being here today.”

Ashton Jeanty racked up 2,497 rushing yards and 29 rushing touchdowns for the Broncos, leading them to a 12-1 record that placed them third in the nation. Boise State has a first-round bye in the 12-team College Football Playoff and will face the winner of No. 6 Penn State vs. No. 11 SMU.

As a wide receiver, Hunter caught 92 passes for 1,152 yards and 14 touchdowns. On defense, he had 11 pass breakups, four interceptions and once forced fumble.

Travis Hunter & Ashton Jeanty Are Top 2025 NFL Draft Prospects

Along with Buffaloes teammate and quarterback Shedeur Sanders, Hunter has a strong chance of being selected first overall in the 2025 NFL Draft. Though running backs rarely go early anymore, Jeanty’s historic season will likely make him a top-15 pick come April.
