It might’ve been a long time coming, but Kendrick Lamar has finally taken a loss at the hands of his biggest nemesis.
Almost a year later, there are still plenty of debates about the Kendrick and Drake battle that shook up the rap landscape in 2024.
It appeared that Lamar was the clear winner. He dropped “Not Like Us” and then went on to secure a spot as the Super Bowl Halftime performer.
There were mixed reviews for his performance, but he still broke numerous records in New Orleans.
One week after the show, the Compton rapper made male soloist history, becoming the first living artist to chart three solo albums in the top 10 on the Billboard 200.

Things have changed quite a bit for Kendrick Lamar in just the following week.
Drake landed his 14th number-one album on the Billboard 200 chart with Some Sexy Songs 4 U. His collaborative album with PartyNextDoor took the number one spot, replacing Lamar’s album GNX.
Kendrick’s album dropped to number three after a 13-week run at the top.

Kendrick Lamar might be down, but certainly not out.
Lamar’s Super Bowl LIX halftime show sparked conversation among fans and critics as he performed a mix of old and new hits.
Despite a ton of backlash that he received, his set broke Michael Jackson’s 1993 record for the most-watched halftime performance. Jackson’s 1993 performance drew 133.4 million viewers, and the 37-year-old rapper beat this number by about 100,000 people.
His performance also attracted more viewers than the actual football game, which drew 126 million viewers, per Fox Sports.
