The Buffalo Bills are one of the best teams in the NFL, and there is no doubt that they will remain competitive for years to come. Their AFC Championship loss is not a product of them being a bad team.
The Bills took on the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday in the AFC Championship game, and it would come down to the wire. Kansas City would end up coming out on top and thus clinch a Super Bowl 59 birth.
Josh Allen didn’t have a bad game, though. He threw for over 230 yards and two touchdowns without a single interception in the 32-29 loss. While Josh Allen and Patrick Mahomes may be getting all the attention, one player should be getting it.
Bills defender Christian Benford was reportedly cleared to play in the game just three hours before kickoff after being out for just one week on concussion protocol. Somehow, he would get mildly hit during the game and be knocked out again.
Buffalo Bills Started Christian Benford 3 Hours After Clearing Protocols
Doctor Jesse Morse took to X to post his reaction to the reportedly shady move by the Bills, saying that they “did Christian Benford dirty” during the highly anticipated match-up on Sunday, and it’s very clear.
Investigate: Christian Benford was cleared from #concussion protocol 3 hours before the game after only one week off.
This seemingly modest hit forced him off on a cart.
When this impacts his career earnings, who will make him whole? They failed him.pic.twitter.com/KazQgLDwN3— Chris Nowinski, Ph.D. (@ChrisNowinski1) January 27, 2025
In the video, Benford can be seen attempting to aid tackle Chiefs wide receiver Xavier Worthy before his teammate hits him in the crossfire. The hit doesn’t seem serious at all, which is why fans are so upset.
If Benford suffers long-term damage, some fans may be disappointed with the Bills. While it may be unfortunate that the team is out of the playoffs now, they will continue to look to next season, and it seems Benford will as well.
